BARCELONA, the upholster furniture, 1994
Design: Hans Sandgren Jakobsen.
Manufacturer needed!
BARCELONA has been developed for an exhibition at Trapholt, the Danish art museum, as an interdisciplinary project with three textile designers : Mette Dammand Jensen, Mette Mikkelsen and Inger Mosholt Nielsen. No less than seven different textile and metal solutions have been tested on the sofa.
BARCELONA is designed for public rooms such as airports, dentists, law firms, receptions, etc. where people sit down for a while and wait.
BARCELONA is suitable for small as well as larger rooms, and due to the various components of the system, the furniture can be adjusted to the current needs of the room.
The ovally shaped seat and back provides the user with a pleasant support and free mobility at the same time. The oval shape ensures central physical support and allows space for the rest of the body.
